Add a bit of Christmas cheer to unexpected places around the house! Four of my favorites are adding big bows to light fixtures (including those in a guest bathroom), adding small bows to a gallery wall, hanging holiday wreaths over mirrors, and displaying Christmas cards from years past! Every year, I hole punch all cards we received, tie a bow through them and add a label so I can keep & decorate with them for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you are hosting or not, I love a good Christmas tablescape. Start with festive china if you have it. If not, it’s something you can begin to affordably collect year after year. I started with Spode Christmas tree dishes the year we were married, and each year plan to add the new desert plate created for that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below your china, adding a charger and a placemat is an ideal way to layer. Don’t forget a runner down the middle of the table, with a tray or wooden server to ground the centerpiece. Candlelight is a necessity, as well as festive florals. Sprinkle cranberries, sprigs of rosemary, or dried orange slices for the finishing touch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Use Antiquing Wax to Update Decor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I’ve had this woven tree collar for a few years, and the gray matched perfectly in my first apartment. However, I wanted warmer brown tones in our home this year. This fix was so easy, and used one of my favorite versatile products! With a chip brush and Antiquing Wax, I added warmth without having to buy a new tree collar. I love these neutral stockings I got a few years ago, but wanted them to be personalized with our names without paying for customization. I decided to use Kraft paper gift tags and my favorite lettering brush pen to do just that!
