33 of the Absolute Best Birthday Themes For Your Little!

best birthday themes

Let me help you plan this momentous milestone! I’ve gathered the best birthday themes for you to start planning the perfect party.

Before children, I did not understand why people went so over and above for their kid’s birthday parties. Now as a parent of an almost one year old, I understand. It’s not for your kid (well, mostly not). It’s for you! You have just made it through the ups and downs of parenting your little for another year, and that deserves to be celebrated.

Birthday Celebrations: It’s up to you!

My daughter will not remember her first birthday party. Yes there will be pictures, but she would not know the difference between a simple gathering without decorations or a large perfectly themed party with coordinating decorations, cake, outfits, and photo opps.

If you don’t want to go all out for your child’s party, that is okay too. If I’ve learned anything in my short time parenting, you will be judged no matter what you do. So you may as well do exactly what YOU feel is best for your family.

For me and my family, we will be going big for the first birthday. I already told my husband that I want to go all out to celebrate our first year of parenthood, while happily letting my daughter be the center of attention. There will be cake, decorations and a DIY milestone photo display board.

Here is the milestone photo display board I made for my nephew

There are 33 of the best themes I’ve gathered, with a world of possibilities for themes. To narrow it down and settle on a theme, here’s a list of considerations to help.

1. What are your child’s interests: Do he like animals? Or cars? Is she a big fan of all things pink or does she love Mexican food?

2. What time of year is their birthday?: Often it’s cute to pair the birthday theme around the season. For example, bunnies in the spring, fruit and water in the summer, etc.

3. Think about the colors you want to use: do you have a color scheme in mind? What is your child’s favorite color?

I hope this gets your wheels turning so you can start planning the perfect birthday party to celebrate not only your child, but another year of parenthood. Cheers!
