FIND THE PERFECT ITINERARY TO THE QUAINT AND UNIQUE TOWN THAT IS GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN. GET TO KNOW A NEW PLACE WHILE ENJOYING GOOD FOOD AND DRINKS TOO. DISCOVER YOUR PERFECT GREEN BAY WEEKEND GUIDE HERE.
I was lucky enough to make my way to Green Bay for a family friend’s wedding, and I’m so glad I did! Having never been to the state of Wisconsin before, I was excited to check it off my list of 50 states in 2021 along with Montana, Wyoming, New Hampshire, and Maine (anyone else have a goal to travel to all 50 states??).
I spent a weekend exploring the town while celebrating the nuptials of a beautiful couple and can’t wait to share the details to help you plan the perfect Green Bay trip. Whether you are a Green Bay Packers fan or not, I dare you to visit this town and not gain a newfound respect for what they have accomplished. Now that I’m a bandwagon fan, I will most definitely be back to visit the Frozen Tundra for a game.
For your first visit, I would recommend planning your trip when the Packers do not have a home game so that you can book a hotel more affordably and eat and visit spots around town with fewer folks around.
Since we were traveling for a wedding, we flew from Memphis to Chicago and caught a ride with my family driving from Chicago to Green Bay. If flights are also cheaper for you into Chicago, renting a car and driving into Green Bay is a good option as long as weather permits.

Day 1: Green Bay Weekend Guide
We arrived Friday evening with time to check in and get cleaned up before dinner. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn right next to Lambeau field. There are a lot of hotels in this vicinity, but we enjoyed our stay at the Hilton! Would stay again.
We ate dinner and had drinks at Hinterland right around the corner from our hotel and the stadium in the Titletown District. Titletown is a newer development next to the Packer’s stadium that includes green space, a playground, and a full sized football field. Hinterland is a great local brewery with a fun beer selection, indoor/outdoor atmosphere and good food!

Day 2: Green Bay Weekend Guide
We woke up bright and early to make it to Uncle Mike’s Bake Shop for a Kringle. What is a Kringle you ask? It’s a flaky, filled baked good similar to a danish usually formed and baked into a pretzel shape. Would recommend to a friend. And especially trying one from Uncle Mike’s- they claim to be the best Kringle in North America!
Uncle Mike’s was such a good idea. Picture a donut/souvenir/bake shop full of fresh-made and local goods! It was pretty busy on a Saturday. We ordered 3 Kringles for a crowd of 6, and had plenty leftover. They have such a wide variety of flavors, it was hard to narrow it down to just three. They boast their sea salt caramel pecan is a fan favorite, but I promise you can’t go wrong.
We headed back in the direction of our hotel to Lambeau field for our scheduled tour. I would recommend getting tickets beforehand to ensure availability. There are multiple options, but we just did the basic one hour tour which I would highly recommend.
The tour includes history of the team, facts about the field, and an on-field experience complete with getting to run out of the home team’s tunnel. After the tour, we had to grab a souvenir from their massive gift shop. If you’re hungry and ready for a bite, 1919 Kitchen & Tap is located in the stadium and would be a great, convenient option. 1919 Kitchen & Tap is a trendy sports bar and restaurant with your typical app and burger options, along with a slew of seasonal mains at a higher price point that sound amazing.
That afternoon and evening, we were occupied with the wedding ceremony and reception at Oneida Country Club. I can recommend the food as they catered the wedding, and the grounds were beautiful. Did you know it is ranked one of the top 15 golf courses in the state of Wisconsin? If you are able, the country club would be a fun place for golf and dinner. I’m not certain of their guest policy, that would be something to check into!
Some other options for things to do recommended by a local include:
Crystal Coffee Cafe and Beanery for great coffee and sandwiches near the airport
Hagemeister Park for spirits and fun
Badger State Brewery for local beers
Day 3: Green Bay Weekend Guide
We woke up in time for check out and to get on the road, but I wanted to see downtown first and grab one last bite. We ate at White Dog Cafe and had an incredible meal. The specialty Eggs Benedict with pulled pork on a cornbread muffin was incredible, and service was friendly and fast. It was the perfect farewell before driving back to Chicago!
Hopefully this is a weekend trip that sounds intriguing to you, it was a neat experience and a part of the country I hadn’t explored much yet. Let me know if you try any of these recommendations and decide to plan a trip of your own!
